أعلن وزير الخارجية الأمريكي، ماركو روبيو، أن واشنطن قررت إلغاء التأشيرات الممنوحة لحملة جوازات سفر جنوب السودان، متهما حكومة الأخيرة
باستغلال بلاده، وعدم التعاون بشأن استقبال مواطنيها المرحلين.
ونشرت وزارة الخارجية الأمريكية الأحد بيانًا على لسان روبيو أعلن فيه بدء إجراءات لإلغاء التأشيرات الممنوحة لحاملي جوازات سفر دولة جنوب السودان.
وذكر أن “تطبيق قوانين الهجرة أمر بالغ الأهمية لأمن الولايات المتحدة القومي وسلامة شعبها. ويتوجب على كل دولة، بما في ذلك الولايات المتحدة، أن تقبل عودة مواطنيها المُرحّلين من دول أخرى في الوقت المناسب”.
ولفت إلى بدء اتخاذ اجراءات من أجل إلغاء جميع التأشيرات الممنوحة لحاملي جوازات سفر جنوب السودان ومنع دخولهم إلى الولايات المتحدة.
وأوضح البيان أنه ستتم إعادة النظر في هذه الإجراءات في حال أبدت حكومة جنوب السودان “تعاونًا كاملًا”.
