وحسب مراسل الأناضول فأن عشرات آلاف الأمريكيين شاركوا في مظاهرات جرت تحت شعار “ارفعوا أيديكم”، في جميع أنحاء البلاد، وخاصة العاصمة واشنطن ونيويورك.
ففي حديقة النصب التذكاري لواشنطن، تجمع آلاف المواطنين حاملين الأعلام الأمريكية بالإضافة إلى لافتات ولوحات تتضمن عبارات رافضة لسياسات إدارة ترامب.
وردد المتظاهرون شعارات مثل “ارفعوا أيديكم عن الديمقراطية”، و”اعزلوا ترامب”، و”إيلون ماسك.. أنت خائن”، و”رحلوا الكراهية”.
وعبّر المشاركون في المظاهرة عن غضبهم إزاء سياسات ترامب وإدارة كفاءة الحكومة التي يقودها الملياردير إيلون ماسك.
وفي واشنطن أيضا، تجمع آلاف آخرون في ساحة “ناشونال مول” المقابلة لمبنى الكونغرس، حاملين الأعلام الفلسطينية ولافتات احتجاجًا على هجمات إسرائيل على غزة.
وهتف المتظاهرون بشعارات مثل “الحرية لفلسطين”، و”توقفوا عن الإبادة الجماعية”، و”ترامب، لا يمكنك الاختباء إزاء إبادة فلسطين”.
واستنكر المتظاهرون الهجمات الإسرائيلية المستمرة في غزة ودعم إدارة ترامب المستمر لإسرائيل.
كما رفعوا لافتات تطالب بالإفراج عن الناشط الفلسطيني محمود خليل، من جامعة كولومبيا، وطالبة الدكتوراة رميساء أوزتورك من جامعة تافتس، اللذين اعتقلهما مسؤولو الهجرة والجمارك، الأسبوع الماضي، بسبب دعمهما لفلسطين.
كما لفت الانتباه وجود مجموعة من اليهود الأرثوذكس بين الحشد الداعم لفلسطين أمام مبنى الكونغرس.
وفرضت شرطة واشنطن إجراءات أمنية مشددة وأغلقت بعض الشوارع بسبب المظاهرات.
وفي نيويورك، احتشد آلاف الأمريكيين في عدة مواقع، أبرزها حديقة براينت بارك، رغم الأمطار الغزيرة، احتجاجًا على إدارة ترامب.
وأعرب المتظاهرون عن رفضهم لسياسات إيلون ماسك، الذي عينه ترامب على رأس إدارة كفاءة الحكومة.
وذكرت تقارير إعلامية أن عدد المشاركين في مظاهرات نيويورك بلغ نحو 10 آلاف شخص.
وأشارت وسائل إعلام أمريكية إلى أن أكثر من 1200 مظاهرة جرت بإشراف أكثر من 150 مجموعة في جميع أنحاء البلاد.
وقالت إن طلبات المشاركة في هذه الاحتجاجات بلغت نحو 600 ألف، ما يجعلها أكبر المظاهرات خلال ولاية ترامب الثانية والتي بدأت في يناير/ كانون الثاني 2025.
