U4GM MLB 26: Unlock 96 Ketel Marte on a Budget

Mini Seasons is the part people often leave until late, and that's a mistake.

A lot of Diamond Dynasty players see 96 overall Ketel Marte and assume the grind is going to be nasty. It really doesn't have to be. The trick is to treat the Vintage Series collection like a shopping list, not a guessing game, and to keep your MLB 26 Stubs for the cards that actually matter. Marte needs 27 Vintage cards locked in, but most of that number can be handled through programs, maps, events, and Mini Seasons before you ever start panic-buying big names.

Quick route to follow

  • Grab the easy Vintage Program rewards first, including the free player cards and choice packs.
  • Play the Old School Event long enough to reach the early XP reward path.
  • Clear Diamond Quest and the Vintage Conquest map for several more collection pieces.
  • Use Vintage players in Mini Seasons so missions stack while you play.
  • Buy only the cheapest missing Vintage cards from the market.

Where the free cards come from

You'll notice pretty quickly that the game hands out a lot of this collection if you're willing to play the right modes. The Vintage Program is the cleanest starting point. Knock out simple stat missions, like total bases, strikeouts, and hits, and you'll walk away with multiple Vintage cards, packs, and Matt Carpenter. The Old School Event is also worth a short run, since 10,000 XP gets you Gleyber Torres and another useful pack. Diamond Quest can be rushed if you're comfortable on a higher difficulty. Head straight for the stronghold, take the win, and move on.

Use Mini Seasons the right way

Mini Seasons is the part people often leave until late, and that's a mistake. Buy a few cheap Vintage cards first, put them in your lineup, then start playing. That way, every inning can push several things at once. You can work on relief pitcher strikeouts for Matt Strahm, saves with Strahm for Raul Ibanez, on-base chances with Ibanez, and Player XP goals without wasting games. The Vintage Conquest map pairs well with this too, because those same players can chip away at general program stats while you're taking strongholds. It feels less like a checklist when everything is moving together.

Keep the market boring

Once the free cards are done, you should be close, usually with about nine spots left. Don't get tempted by Derek Jeter, Chase Utley, or any card sitting at a silly price. Filter the market to Vintage Series and sort by the lowest sell-now or buy-now prices. Most of the useful filler cards sit around 4,000 to 5,000 stubs when the market is calm, so plan for a budget near 100,000 stubs and adjust if prices spike. If you pull a duplicate later, sell it back. Players who want to buy MLB Stubs can speed up the last purchases, but the smart play is still the same: collect the free 18, buy the cheapest nine, and lock in Ketel Marte without paying for names you don't need.
