David Njoku set to leave Browns, test free agency Njoku signed a four-year, $54.75 million deal with the Browns during the 2022 offseason, and after playing out the entirety of the deal, he's set to test unrestricted free agency for the first time in his career. The Cedar Grove, New Jersey, native was selected by Cleveland with the 29th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft out of the University of Miami. Throughout his nine-year NFL career, Njoku has hauled in 384 receptions for 4,062 yards and 34 touchdowns, and even earned a Pro Bowl nod in 2023. Unfortunately, Njoku has been made expendable thanks to the emergence of 2025 third-round pick Harold Fannin Jr., who broke onto the scene with an impre sive rookie season. Fannin caught 72 balls for 731 yards this past season, including seven touchdowns. projects Njoku to ink a two-year, $20 million contract this offseason with a tight end-needy team, and should have plenty of suitors thanks to his receiving threat and ability to block in the run game.
